Descripción

FtM (del inglés "female-to-male", traducido como "de mujer a hombre") es un término mayoritariamente histórico que ha sido reemplazado en gran medida por "hombres trans". Esto se debe, en parte, al rol del término en la medicalización de las personas transgénero y a la suposición de que los hombres trans antes eran “femeninos” y se han convertido en “masculinos” (generalmente, a través de hormonas y/o cirugía).

FtM (female-to-male) is a mostly historical term which has been largely replaced by “trans men.” This is due in part to the term's role in the medicalization of transgender people and the assumption that trans men were previously “female” and have become “male” (typically through hormones and/or surgery).
