MtF (del inglés "male-to-female", traducido como "de hombre a mujer") es un término mayoritariamente histórico que ha sido reemplazado en gran medida por "mujeres trans". Esto se debe en parte a la conexión del término con la medicalización de las personas transgénero y su suposición de que las mujeres trans "nacen" hombres y se vuelven mujeres (generalmente a través de hormonas y/o cirugía).

MtF (male-to-female) is a mostly historical term that has been largely replaced by "trans women." This is due in part to the term’s connection to the medicalisation of transgender people and its assumption that trans women are "born" male and become female (typically through hormones and/or surgery).
